SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2012:

Other than Statistical Investigator Grade-II with Interview:

SSC CGL Tier-I Exam Pattern:

Category – Name of the Test – Maximum Marks

  • A – General Intelligence and Reasoning – 50
  • B – General Awareness – 50
  • C – Quantitative Aptitude – 50
  • D – English Comprehension – 50

Total Marks = 200

Duration = 2 hours

Duration for VH = 2 hours 40 minutes

SSC CGL Tier-II Exam Pattern:

Name of the Test – Marks – Number of Questions

  • 1. Quantitative Abilities – 200 – 100

Duration: 2 hours

Duration for VH: 2 hours 40 minutes

  • 2. English Language & Comprehension = 200 marks

SSC CGL Interview: 100 marks

SSC CGL Proficiency/Skill Test will be held for Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for the post of Assistant in CSS only.

Total marks will be 700 for other than Statistical Investigator Grade-II with interview combining both exams of SSC CGL 2012.

Other than Compiler Post without Interview:

SSC CGL Tier-I and Tier-II exam patterns will be same as other than Statistical Investigator Grade-II with interview. There will be no interview for the post. There will be a Data Entry Skill Test at speed of 8000 key depression per hour for post of Tax Assistant. Total marks will be 600 for other than Compiler post without interview.

SSC CGL Exam Pattern for Statistical Investigator Grade-II:

SSC CGL exam pattern 2012 will be same for Statistical Investigator Grade-II also in Tier-I exam. There will be Paper-I & II in Tier-II exam same as other than Statistical Investigator Grade-II with interview. There will be Paper-III (Statistics) also in Tier-II exam of SSC CGL for 200 marks. There will be an interview of 100 marks. There will be no proficiency/skill test for the post. Total marks will be 900 for Statistical Investigator Grade-II in SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam pattern 2012. 

SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2012 for Compiler:

SSC Combined Graduate Level Exam Pattern 2012 for Compiler will be same as Statistical Investigator Grade-II for Tier-I and Tier-II. There will be no interview and no skill/proficiency test. Total marks will be 800 for Compiler post.

SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier-I Exam:

SSC CGL Syllabus 2012 for A – General Intelligence & Reasoning: there will be verbal and non-verbal type of questions. There will be questions from analogies, similarities, differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetic reasoning, figural classification and arithmetic number series.

SSC CGL Tier-I syllabus for General Intelligence & Reasoning will consists of non-verbal series, coding, decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.

SSC CGL Syllabus for B – General Awareness: current topic will cover History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Policy and Scientific Research.

SSC CGL Syllabus 2012 for C – Quantitative Aptitude: the chapter of Quantitative Aptitude will cover whole numbers, decimals, fractions, percentage, ratio, proportion, square roots, averages, interest, profit, loss, discount, time, distance, work, algebra, linear equations, triangle, circles, polygons, histogram, heights, diagram and pie chart.

SSC CGL Tier-I Syllabus 2012 for D – English Comprehension:basic comprehension and writing ability

SSC CGL Exam Pattern for Tier-II:

Paper Number – Subject/Paper – Marks – Number of Questions

  • III – Statistics – 200 – 200
  • I – Quantitative Abilities – 200 – 100
  • II – English Language & Comprehension – 200 – 200

SSC CGL Tier-II Syllabus:

SSC CGL Tier-II Syllabus for Paper-I: Quantitative Ability: the syllabus is almost same as SSC CGL Tier-I syllabus for C – Quantitative Aptitude.

SSC CGL Tier-II Syllabus 2012 for Paper-II: English Language and Comprehension: there will be spot error, fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, spelling, mis-spelt words, idioms, phrases, one word substitution, improvement of sentences, active/passive voice of verbs, direct/indirect speech, passage and comprehension passage.

SSC CGL Syllabus of Tier-II for Paper-III: Statistics: the syllabus will cover collection classification, presentation of statistical data, measures of central tendency, measures of dispersion, moments, skewness, kurtosis, correlation, regression, probability theory, random variable, probability distributions, sampling theory, statistical inference, analysis of variance, time series analysis and index number.
